How to Tie the Figure of Eight Bend

The great thing about the Figure of Eight Bend is that it is very easy to tie. Once you have learnt how to tie a Figure of Eight Knot, then creating a Figure of Eight Bend is just a matter of following the path of the original knot with a second piece of rope. The Figure of Eight Bend is also easy to untie even when rope has been heavily loaded.

The Figure of Eight Bend is known as a secure knot, but by adding two safety tie off’s, this then becomes a very secure bend in a rope under tension or slack.
