Diamond Sennit Knot with 6 strands
How to Tie the Diamond Sennit Knot
Diamond Sennit Knot with 6 strands looks a little like the Matthew Walker knot, but has the addition of a nice little crown on top. Really quite an easy decorative knot to tie. The Diamond Sennit is a rather beautiful knot when tied, yet I do not think I have ever seen tied other than on this site. Even my own Ditty Bags do not have this rather lovely knot decorating them!

What is the Diamond Sennit Used For
Now that I know about this decorative knot, I will certainly be using it on my knotwork. I think that some of the best projects to use this on would be; part of a ditty bag handle; the last knot on a cat of nine tails; or maybe even incorporate this on a bell rope. Whatever you are thinking of using the Diamond Sennit for, your work will be admired for not only it’s beauty but also for using some of the lesser known knots.
Decorative Knotting Project Books
If you think that you may be interested in decorative knotwork, I can highly recommend Des Pawson’s Book on Knot Craft and Rope Mats. The book is packed with lots of knotting project, that are actually not too hard to achieve. The other thing that is really good about the book is, it not only shows you how to tie the knots, but also gives you dimension and length of cordage that is required to complete a project.
You have probably also heard of Ashley’s Book of Knots, but if you are only just starting out, you would be better off with Des Pawon’s book. I personally had Ashley’s Book of Knots from the very start, but found it rather difficult to understand and follow in the beginning. Now that I have been knotting for sometime, I would not be without my Ashley’s Book of Knots.
