Call of the Open Sea Book Review
Book Review L’appel du large
This book, to me is superb, as it is packed with wonderful pictures of decorative knot work.
Best Knotting Book for Inspiration
The book is written in French and I do not speak a single word of French!! However, having said that there are some wonderful photographs of decorative knotwork. I often thumb through the pages and just enjoy seeing some of the hard work that has gone into making some of the decorative rope masterpieces.
Quality Decorative Knot Photographs
I think what I really appreciate is that the photographer has thought very hard as to how he wants to present excellent decorative knot work. Maybe I am a bit biased, as my favourite kind of knotwork is done with natural rope. There are no bight bawdy colours like with paracord. With good hard lay natural cordage the knotting stand out and look more traditional.
Call of the Open Sea Book Video Review
Hopefully in this video I can pass on my enthusiasm as to how wonderful this knotting book actually is! If every I am short of ideas on what to make next, I flick through the pages and good knotting ideas come to mind.
Purchase the Book Call of the Open Sea
There are two issues with this book that I have to highlight. Firstly, the book is as rare as hens teeth to find. Secondly, when it does appear for sale, it does come with a rather hefty price tag. Maybe, a better option would be to order the book through your library. Then you can decide for yourself if this is a book you would like to add to your collection?
